Environment & Activities Casa Ramón

Location:

It is a small quiet rural village in the Chistau Valley surrounded by beautiful mountain meadows and forests.

It is very interesting to visit the Iglesia de San Esteban (16th century), which preserves Tiburcio mummy.
In Sin two ethnographic buildings are preserved - the sawmill and mill. They also retain remarkable elements of the Pyrenean architecture - building in stone, steep slate roofs, and balconies facing the sun under small gables. As a legacy of its past, there are several houses from the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries. Almost all houses have their own shield, combining elements of Spanish and French heraldry. For centuries, its inhabitants had the status of "infanzones", members of the lowest rank of the nobility.
As elsewhere in the valley, livestock has been the main activity, using the pastures that stretch to Punta Suelza.

From Sin, you can do lots of mountain excursions. The Posets-Maladeta and Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Parks are really close, specially the accesses through Pineta Valley and Tella .

They are also very interesting to visit in the valley, such as Plan, San Juan de Plan and its ethnographic museum, and Gistaín.

Activities:

The valley has a well marked trail network linking the villages and mountains including:
- From Sin to Collado de Cruz de Guardia.
- Ibón de Plan or Basa de la Mora.
- From Saravillo, there is also a forest track to the Ibón.
- The three villages of Sin, Serveto and Señes are known as "La Comuna" the three towns are connected by trails, and from Señes the way up to Gistaín is really interesting and you can do a circuit to return to La Comunca again.

Also - horseback riding, four-wheel-drive car routes, mountain biking, canyoning, rafting, canoeing on high mountain waters, cross- country skiing (20 minutes from Valle de Pineta, in Bielsa) and Alpine (35 minutes away is the French Piau-Engaly Ski Resort).
