Las Avutardas is a mid-twentieth century popular architectural building that formerly was a cinema. It has been restored into a holiday cottage and winery, and certified to "Two Spikes".

The accommodation has 4 double rooms and extra beds available in some rooms, with central heating, air conditioning, bathroom in each room, plus a shared bathroom. It also has a wheelchair friendly bathroom. All rooms face onto the street and have with a balcony overlooking the Plaza de Colón.

It also has a lounge with fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen.

Large communal areas accessed through a past century carriage house leading to a large hall.

Winery:
Our winery, the smallest in Extremadura, is on the lower floor of the building. This is where our wine "Chavete Sierra de Fuentes" is made. Both red and white wines are natural, ie basic parameters (alcohol content, acidity...) are not altered by additives of any kind, and they are not subjected to aggressive processes such as stabilized, filtered, etc. This is the reason why some bottles can present precipitation at the bottom of tartaric salts, which do not affect the taste of wine.

• Chavete Tinto Roble, this wine is at least three years, of which the first 15 months remains in oak. It is recommended for use with meat and vegetable stews, meats, cheeses, etc.

• Chavete Blanco, is a young wine, to drink cool with exceptional aromatic qualities. Suitable for consumption with vegetables and fish in summer.

Location:

Las Avutardas is located in Sierra de Fuentes (Cáceres), in the South-West of the Iberian Peninsula. It is strategically located:

• Within 10 minutes of monumental Cáceres, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
• 50 minutes from Monfrague Park, through Trujillo, old medieval town.
• 1 hour from Merida, Roman city (Lusitana provincial capital), where you can visit an impressive monumental collection of buildings.

Privileged environment - the Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA), "Los Llanos de Cáceres and Sierra de Fuentes". Cereal fields dedicated to cattle ranching, mainly merino sheep, and traditional agriculture. Thanks to that balance between nature and farming, the SPA has the large number and diversity of steppe birds it has.

Sierra de Fuentes, a village known by the ornithological and naturalist world, as it has the largest population of Great Bustard (Otis tada) in the world, the last census is 1200 bustards, not to mention birds - not as iconic as the great bustard but so scarce in the rest of Europe as: Montagu's Harrier (Circus pigargus), with a spring census of 120 couples, Lesser Kestrel (Falco naumanni) with 650 breeding pairs, 500 of them in the monumental city of Caceres, Sisones (Tetras Tetras), with over 12,000 wintering individuals.

Activities:

All activities must be booked in advance.

• Horse Riding. Enjoy the splendor of Extremaduran nature on a horse through "cañadas reales" and trails. Get carried away by the charm and sensations on a perfect dressage horse.

• Quads Routes Walk the trails, paths and tracks on a 4-wheeled motorcycle. Crawl stones and rocks to avoid obstacles on the dirt bike.

• Paragliding Feel the emotion and adrenaline of lying free as a bird, watching beautiful landscapes and feeling fresh air on your face.

• 2D Simulated Hunting Archery Walk a farm, in teams, in paths, boulders and bushes, looking for hidden 2D animals and test your aim for your simulated game. Complete the 8-animal course and show your team is the Robin Hook of forests.

• Paintball Make your team play strategies to defeat the opposing team. The fun starts with paintball shots on the opposing team to achieve targets in each game.

• Bungee Leap safely into the void from a bridge. Experience an adrenalin rush.
