Can Ros is an eighteenth century farmhouse completely restored located 3.5 km from Cistella, a village in the Alt Empordà. It is located in an idyllic setting amidst a mixed forest of pines, oaks, overlooking the Gulf of Roses, the Cap de Creus massif and Alberas.
In the immediate surroundings of the farmhouse it is not unusual to see Mediterranean fauna such as deer, roe deer, wild boars, foxes, eagles, badgers, etc.

It is ideal for a few days off in the countryside, accompanied by the sound of birds.
Self-catering rural accommodation, this "Masía" (typical Catalan farmhouse) sleeps up to 8. The price includes everything you need to feel at home, such as kitchenware, sheets, blankets, towels, washing machine, TV, and firewood.

The house has two floors:
• On the first floor is the kitchen and dining room in a 50m2 single room. From the living room through a large window, you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Alt Empordà plains and the entire Gulf of Roses. It has a fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen. The living room gives access to a panoramic terrace where you can enjoy lunch or a privileged view, or if you are an early bird, enjoy the sunrise on the Mediterranean Sea.

• On the ground floor there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There are two double bedrooms and one with two bunk beds.

Environment & Activities Masía Can Ros

Location:

The farm has 11 acres of forest including lots of paths. In this privileged environment is the swimming pool, where you can relax on the sunbeds in the sun or sleep a peaceful nap in the hammocks under the shade of cherry trees.

The "Masía" is located in the heart of Alt Empordà in the area known as Garrotxa de L´Empordà, among ancient villages such as Lladó and Cistella. It is a privileged location, as it is located between the coast and the interior of the High Garrotxa, in the foothills of the Serra de L'Estela.

In under an hour you can visit areas of great scenic and natural interest, such as the Natural Park of Cap de Creus, "Paratge Natural de Interes Nacional de L´Albera", Nature Reserve Salinas-Bassegoda, the Muga River, the Boadella Reservoir, Garrotxa volcanic area, the "gorgues de Sadernes", "L'Estany de Banyoles" and "Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de L´Empordà".

Activities:

It is a natural area in itself, crossed by rivers allowing sports, mountains for hiking, cycling and mountain biking, swamps and lakes, and wonderful coves and beaches on Empordà coast for water sports. If you love risk, can also go parachuting in Empuriabrava.


As for cultural visits, the offer is similar, as it the farmhouse is close to Figueres, the Museu Dalí, Besalú, Cadaqués, the medieval towns in the Empordà, the monasteries of Sant Pere de Rodes and Sant Quirze de Cholera, and the most important megalithic region in Catalonia featuring more than a hundred dolmens.


Nor is it necessary to drive, since right from the farmhouse you can make a walking tour to the Manol River lonely river pools and waterfalls (30 min) where you can have a refreshing dip, go mountain-biking from route 20 MTB Salines-Bassegoda circuit, or just take a walk through the woods around the house, where in season, you can find different types of mushrooms.

The local cuisine is excellent, specially Carles Antoner restaurant located in Cistella.
